Information for families

Refreshments

There is a restaurant on the hospital’s lower ground floor, a coffee and sandwich shop on level 1 and 2 of the main hospital building and a Marks & Spencer Simply Food on level 2, past reception. You’ll find vending machines near the maternity reception on level 2, and of course there is a shop near the maternity block entrance. You’ll find refreshments in the Family Room.

The flat on Buscot

If you are staying in the flat on the ward, arrangements can be made for you to collect meals from Iffley ward or you may make use of the limited kitchen facilities, you are welcome to bring your own food for your over-night stay or to arrange for a take-away.

Parking Permits

If you are using the hospital car parks, you don’t have to pay while your baby is in Special Care Baby Unit. Ask one of the nurses for a parking permit. These are renewable on a weekly and monthly basis and, to avoid being clamped, they must be displayed at all times.
N.B. Please park in the public areas only.

Public Phones

Please respect other families and keep your mobile phones turned off completely while you are in the hospital. You’ll find public pay phones near the main entrance to the maternity block, and near the stairwells on most floors. Some of them take credit cards as well as coins. There is an additional phone in the Quiet Room on Buscot Ward, which also accepts cards and coins.
