Nothing prepares you for the shock of having a sick newborn child,
especially when that baby is critically ill and requires intensive
treatment.
No-one can take away the fears, the emotions and the worry that
all parents go through at this time - but we hope that through
our support and practical help, we can encourage everyone through
difficult times, and share in some of the good times as well!
BIBS is run by volunteers, most of whom are parents of children
who required special care at birth. We can relate to the fears,
emotions and pain of parents with critically ill babies as we've
been there too.
Activities include regular coffee evenings on the Buscot ward,
running a small library of books and clothing, producing information
leaflets and liaising with local media to raise the awareness
of the issues surrounding premature and sick babies.
See our Parents' Guide
in full, or ask one of the nurses on the ward for a copy of
our leaflet.
